Dr. Thomas completed a combined 6-year BA/MD medical program at Lehigh University and the Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP). He remained at Allegheny General Hospital/MCP for his internship year and then completed his ophthalmology residency at Brown University School of Medicine / Rhode Island Hospital.

Dr. Thomas completed fellowship level training in oculoplastic & orbital surgery, as well as neuro-ophthalmology at the W.K. Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan. He gained additional exposure to cosmetic facial plastic surgery with Dr. Robert Flowers at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the only subspecialty trained oculoplastic surgeon in the surrounding region.

Dr. Thomas' subspecialty practice focuses on diseases involving the eyelid, orbit and lacrimal system caused by tumors, trauma, neurologic or age-related changes. He also provides skilled management and treatment of patients with lacrimal system disease, orbital fractures or prosthetic eyes. He also has an interest and experience in aesthetic eyelid and facial surgery, including botulinum toxin, facial fillers, endoscopic brow and mid-facial surgery, and laser skin resurfacing. He has been named one of "America's Top Ophthalmologists" and to the "Best Doctor's" list multiple times.

Dr. Thomas sees oculoplastics patients both at the MCG Department of Ophthalmology main campus as well as a community office location in Evans, Georgia.
